The Nordic Medical Clinic (NMC) is a Business-to-Business (B2B) Pre-Employment Medical Examination (PEME) Clinic for seafarers in the Philippines, established in 2018. NMC applies a holistic approach to healthcare, mindful of the needs of seafarers and companies.

NMC’s Pre-Employment Medical Examination program seeks to raise the standards of PEME in the Philippines. It does not only test seafarers’ health prior to boarding but it also teaches the seafarers how to take care of their health onboard & ashore. By saying “health” we mean both the physical & mental health of the seafarer; we aim for a decrease in medical repatriations & sick cases onboard, leading to client success.

WHAT WE NEED TO KNOW ABOUT PEME?

PEME stands for Pre Employment Medical Examination. This is one crucial medical requirement for a seafarer to be able to get onboard for a contract. Other medical requirements are Vaccinations, COVID testing, Drug and Alcohol test, which the Nordic Medical Clinic is also able to serve to our customers.

PEME Appointment and Costs

NMC has an appointment system wherein Crewing Teams schedule the seafarers for their PEME. Costs vary depending on the customer requirement, different packages for age groups, shipowner, flag and P&I requirements.

PEME Medical Results

Your PEME results are available within 24 hours. An NMC Doctor sends a curated email to the seafarer on the status, and also a health education call from NMC Doctor too within the day to explain the results. Once Medical Fitness is finalized, the printed and signed medical certificates are delivered to the Crewing Office.

Post-PEME Conversation with Doctor

Every seafarer gets to see an NMC Doctor for Follow-Up Consultation to explain and educate them on their PEME results. Now done online, through emails and calls. The follow-up process after PEME helps in building a trusting relationship between seafarer and doctor, and allows long-term partnership for their health, helping the seafarer to have an enduring career for the industry, and ensuring the welfare for the seafarer’s family.

TELEMEDICINE (NMC AIDE)

“NMC AIDE” stands for Nordic Medical Clinic ASSISTANCE for INJURIESDISEASE, and EMERGENCIES. NMC AIDE is not just limited to physical illness, professional help can also be given for mental health concerns of the crew. It is a Telemedical advice given anytime, anywhere around the world.

Fees

  • USD 5 per day, per vessel. This service is offered as a subscription per vessel. A very little price for a very valuable service. With unlimited consultations and referrals for enrolled vessels.
  • USD 20 per call or email consultation for the ad-hoc basis requirements (not subscribed).
