QualShip21 award to eight more vessels

OSM Singapore continues to lead the way for 21st century quality shipping.

“We are pleased to announce that eight more vessels in the PCTC fleet have received QualShip21 status from the United States Coast Guard,” says Fleet Director PCTC at OSM Singapore Ian Morgan, and continues:

“Receiving the QualShip21 status demonstrates to current owners and potential customers that OSM manage quality vessels that are recognized and rewarded by stringent organizations such as the USCG.”

With this recognition the Viking Adventure, Viking Bravery, Viking Conquest, Viking Queen, Viking Ocean, Viking Drive, Viking Amber and Viking Sea join an elite class of vessels. According to the US Coast Guard (USCG) less than 10 percent of all foreign-flagged ships that operate in the United States meet the eligibility requirements of the QualShip21-program. The USCG allows for simplified inspections on board vessels awarded with QualShip21 status, as these vessels are considered “pre-approved” for US waters.

The eight Pure Car Truck Carriers (PCTC), managed by OSM Ship Management Singapore, follow the footsteps of the Glovis Composer and the Viking Destiny that were listed into the QualShip21-program in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) congratulated OSM with the achievement and expressed their admiration towards OSM’s commitment to quality operations in their statement:

“We are delighted to hear that eight of your managed Singapore vessels have successfully enrolled in the USCG QualShip21-program. We greatly appreciate the efforts that you, your team and your masters and crews have put in to ensure the safety and good performance of your vessels.”
