OSM Thome is proud to announce the successful completion of its site supervision management for Windward offshores four-vessel Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) newbuilding program. The milestone campaign concluded with the official delivery of the fourth vessel, Windward Hamburg, on 28 August 2026, followed by her departure on 30 August 2026, achieved nearly two months ahead of the contractual delivery schedule.
With Windward Hamburg joining her sister vessels—Windward Athens, Windward Paris, and Windward Munich—the entire purpose-built CSOV fleet is now complete. Together, these modern, flexible assets form the backbone of Windward Offshores operations, supporting offshore wind construction, commissioning, and long-term services.
Dedicated On Site Supervision and Exceptional Stakeholder Collaboration
Throughout the project lifecycle, OSM Thome’s site supervision team, led by Deri Setiawan, Site Manager, worked in close coordination with Windward Offshores project leadership, headed by Arnim von der Lieth, Project Director Newbuilding.
The early delivery highlights the strong contribution, commitment, and coordination across all stakeholders at shipyard led by K.V. Rajagopalan, Project Manager at VARD Vung Tau. Together, the yard, supervision team, owner team, and equipment suppliers maintained exceptional momentum while upholding the highest safety and quality standards.
Built on the proven VARD 4 19 design, each vessel measures 87.5 meters in length and 19.5 meters in beam, offering accommodation for up to 120 personnel. Windward Hamburg and Windward Munich feature integrated helidecks for expanded personnel transfer options.
Key Technical Capabilities:
- Height-adjustable motion-compensated gangway with integrated elevator
- Electric motion-compensated crane
- Height-adjustable boat landing system
- Battery-hybrid propulsion system prepared for future green methanol operation
Leadership Statements on the Milestone Delivery:
I extend my sincere gratitude to Windward Offshore, VARD Vung Tau, our sub-contractors, and the OSM Thome supervision team for their exceptional synergy. Safely delivering four complex CSOVs nearly two months ahead of schedule is a remarkable achievement. Congratulations to everyone involved on this success.
