OSM Thome “A Decade of Evolution from Site Supervision to End-to-End Solutions”

OSM Thome — Osm Thome Fb Posting
The growth of OSM Thome in Vietnam represents a journey of expanding capabilities and seamless integration. Over the past decade, we have evolved from providing expert site supervision to delivering comprehensive, end-to-end maritime solutions.
Under the strategic leadership of Mr. Douglas Dalli, Managing Director of New Shipbuilding Supervision Services, OSM Thome established its first major footprint in Vietnam in 2013. This began with the supervision of high-specification Platform Supply Vessels (PSV) and Offshore Construction Jack-Ups within the Falcon series. Today, our organization is defined by a unique “Newbuild-to-Management” pipeline, ensuring that the technical expertise gained during construction leads to a flawless transition into ship management teams for full operation after delivery.
A defining chapter in our Vietnamese legacy is the massive historical project with Ocean Infinity, which stands as a flagship for our integrated model. Under the guidance of Mr. Wang Si Rong, who served as the Site Manager during the critical build phases of the Ocean Infinity fleet as well as the Falcon Global lift boats and PSV series, we successfully delivered a groundbreaking fleet of 14 marine robotic vessels from the Armada 78 and 86 series. These cutting-edge assets were designed for lean-crewed or uncrewed remote operations and were handed over to OSM Thome Management for full operation after our technical teams ensured the highest quality of build at the Vard Vung Tau yard.
Building on that success, our current portfolio remains at the cutting edge of the offshore energy transition under the expert supervision of Site Manager Mr. Deri Setiawan, who oversees high-specification support vessels for Norwind Offshore and Windward Offshore. Following the successful delivery of the Norwind Storm CSOV in 2024, the owner has further expanded this partnership for the next generation of vessels by commissioning a new Energy Construction Vessel (ECV) based on the VARD 3 11 design. This massive vessel features a 150-ton heave-compensated offshore crane and a permanently installed motion-compensated walk-to-work gangway, and it is scheduled for delivery in Q3 2027. This build includes a 1 MWh battery-hybrid system and is methanol-ready, meeting the highest environmental standards.
The strength of our Vietnamese hub continues to grow with our latest project, involving five walk-to-work vessels of the VARD 3 32 design, managed on-site by Site Manager Mr. Fakhri. These vessels provide maintenance and operational services to offshore platforms while featuring the latest hull design optimized for low fuel consumption. Notably, the entire fleet of five VARD 3 32 SOV vessels will be both operated and managed by OSM Thome post-delivery to ensure that technical knowledge gained during the build phase is directly transferred to our operations teams. These ships are equipped with a diesel-electric and battery-hybrid propulsion system as well as a 3D motion-compensated gangway and crane to provide excellent working conditions for the crew and technicians on board.
As a testament to our current momentum and operational excellence, we are proud to celebrate several major milestones marking the start of 2026. These achievements include the keel laying for the new Norwind ECV project in December 2025, the keel laying for the first of the five VARD 3 32 SOV vessels, and the landmark launching of the Windward project vessel in late January 2026. These milestones reflect a decade of growth that has turned our Vietnam operations from steel supervisors into architects of high-tech managed assets.
