Founder and Chairman Bjørn Tore Larsen is taking up the position as CEO of OSM Maritime Group with effect from March 4th, 2019.
Bjørn Tore Larsen, who is also the controlling shareholder of the company, previously held this position up to 2013.
Since its foundation in 1989, OSM has been providing ship management, offshore management and new building management services. With 11,000 employees and a global operation servicing more than 500 ships and offshore units, OSM has grown to become a leading provider of third-party maritime management services.
“I am looking forward to working even closer with the management team and all colleagues at OSM. We will continue to be focused on safety and quality, and to constantly improve our service to our customers through continuous development of people and technology,” says Larsen.
Current CEO Geir Sekkesæter will continue as Managing Director of OSM Norway and be responsible for the Arendal-based operations of the Group.
“We are grateful for Geir’s contribution to OSM as the CEO over the last 6 years. He has been instrumental in building OSM as a leading ship manager with a global footprint, with significant growth during his leadership. We are also very happy to see Geir in his new role where he will be focusing on further strengthening ship management, rig management and crew management operations done out of Arendal”, says Larsen.
“I am very pleased to continue working for OSM and to focus even more on our services and activities out of Arendal, one of the main centres of OSM’s global operation”, says Geir Sekkesæter.
