OSM Thome proudly participated in the DP Shuttle Tanker keel laying ceremony. More specifically, on August 7 of 2023, the keel laying ceremony for Shanghai North Sea Shipbuilding Co. Ltd’s second 155,000 DWT Dynamic Positioning Shuttle Tanker newbuilding for Petrobras (a state-owned Brazilian multinational corporation in the petroleum industry) took place at the Dalian Shipbuilding Co., Ltd in Dalian, China.
This important milestone marks the end of the block-building period as well as the beginning of the next phase – to complete the newbuilding with all its systems. The shuttle tanker, ship name – NS EXPLORER, is expected to be launched in January 2024 and delivered in August 2024. This shuttle tanker is the second of two newbuildings to be provided for Petrobras.
The construction for the first shuttle tanker was completed and successfully delivered in March this year, 2023.
